*grrrrrr*

The Goddess is not pleased..

The Goddess is not pleased..

Not one bit..

When I spoke to BellSouth and found out it would be best to get dsl through them instead of waiting around til Gods knew when for Earthlink to get dsl in my area, the only thing that convinced me to do so was the fact that they would waive my installation fee. They had to install a dsl line because I didn't have the right phone lines. Something told me it may not have been the best idea.. They waived my fee because I let them know I wasn't able to afford it... They waived it because I had been a BellSouth customer in good standing for yadda yadda yadda long period of time and they wanted to keep my business (of course). I accepted only because of said waived fee.. I even called back to make sure they waived the fee..

So, someone.. please tell me why they charged me the 99 dollar installation fee?

When I call them tomorrow morning..

It's not nice to fool with Mother Zorathenne...

Oy veh. That sucks. They won't know what hit 'em tomorrow.

How are you feeling?

*huggle* I'm feeling a bit better.. Got some housework done and the boyto.. ermm I mean Vernard helped greatly with the yardwork I was getting backed up with. Being sick is no fun *pouts*!

Oh man.. BellSouth is going to have to make sure they make me happy somehow tomorrow..

well having worked for bellsouth (thankfully i don't anymore), i can honestly say that there are very few companies out there that have managed to succeed so well with their collective heads planted so far up their asses. *shakes head* i'm not surprised this happened to you, but i'm sorry that it did.

hopefully you'll luck out and the reps you spoke to on the phone actually did their job and noted somewhere that your fee was to be waived... and hopefully the next rep you get on the phone will have a clue and know how to fix your bill. *hugs*

A-FRIGGIN-MEN!!!

I worked in the DSL area... oh the stories I could tell!

From what I remember, the young woman I spoke to in the beginning put the note in about the waiver. And when I called back to doublecheck (because I'm paranoid like that ~ I wonder why), a different woman I spoke to also mentioned the note.

So I'm thinking that someone there either can't read.. or thought they could slip something in under the radar..

Either way.. I'm not paying for something I was assured I wouldn't be charged for, or there's going to be an issue.. *grins evilly*

A small DSL primer...

[identity profile] jerseygirl1.livejournal.com 2004-09-12 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Unless things havbe changed, and I doubt they have, Earthlink gets its DSL service from BellSouth....

Now that you are experienceing the wonders of BellSouth, you should hopefully not be surprised why Earthlink had a problem setting up your line.

Yeah and I would have loved to stay with Earthlink, but it seems BellSouth doesn't want to give up the lines to them in this area anytime soon. I still have Earthlink for the time being though, but for the 10 dollar plan where I just have my email address and webspace and stuff..

Actually, if BellSouth is not providing them access to the DSLAM in that area, then they are in violation of the FCC regulations.

they are such creeps!

Let me know if you can't get it fixed. I've got a friend in DSL support that can probably figure it out.

Umm..

Dear..? Aren't you just in the next room..?

*scritches head*

You could have just told me that in passing.. right? *grinkiss*

[identity profile] vernard.livejournal.com 2004-09-12 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
*in his most droning voice*

I am not in the next room with you.

I'm at my apartment working on my phd.

Move along, nothing to see.

*giggle*

[identity profile] zorathenne.livejournal.com 2004-09-12 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
*teehee* well.. since you're at the apartment..

I guess I'll just have to eat this banana nut bread all by my lonesome.. *halo*

The Force stops here

Because I am not at Mel's, your Force-games don't have any affect on me.

YOU SHOULD BE WORKING ON YOUR PhD!

But I know you are actually working on it at Mel's.

Right! Right... Right?
