Good Morning! Everyone sleep well?

I had promised Mom I would go walking with her today.. But it's raining.. Hard.. And it's not a warm rain..
So I'm gonna finally finish straightening up my room (ooh.. maybe I will finally finish it! *bounce*), and get my outfit all ready for tomorrow.. I guess I'll make today Laundry Day as well..

On another note..
2 articles I came across last night:

One made me go, "Hrmm.."
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2004/02/11/bible_lessons_these_clergy_forgot/

The other made me go, "YAY!"
http://www.authenti-city.com/

I wonder what else has been going on in the world today so far..

First article...ack

OooooKkkkkkk......
(gotta remember "freedom of speech, freedom of the press")
Let's just take this in order now shall we (both sides):
"To say there is such a thing as a gay Christian is saying there's an honest thief."
Know lots of both actually. Cannot recall anyplace in the bible where it says ya' gotta be straight to get saved. And I know more than a couple of "thieves" who I would trust to watch my house more than some of the honest people. ...Next...
The whole thing about comparing this to civil rights movements:
Might be a close comparisson in some regards, like the fact that it is both a social and politcal line that is being changed, not a RELIGIOUS one...seems to me, there were (was not there then so am guessing here) black Christians before the civil rights movements.
Saying anything about what someone says the "voice of God" tells them: "How the hairy heck would you know what He says to someone else??". "Nuff said.
Now the fun part. You know, where they start calling the kettle black....
"Wives be subject....": Does this twit even know what that relationship means? Not the wife thing, but His relation to the church. I really hope that unconditional love and respect did NOT go out with anything.
"Slaves, obey ....": Ah, think about the time frame for writing here...slaves were more common than house pets. And more than socially acceptable at the time. Granted, it is good that view has changed, but that is a SOCIAL and/or POLITICAL view, not a religious one.
*If you want a politcal/social history of biblical times, the Bible is not the place to look: almost nothing of past politics are involved in it. Few kings getting crowned/de-throned, quickie reference to paying your taxes and that is about it*
Personally speaking, I think the church should bow out of this little arguement, and both sides need to forget it was ever involved. This is not being debated by ministers and priests, but by politicians. You know, the guys who say "I oppose it!" when they are one themselves, or "I strongly support it!" when they would rather run over a gay/lesbian couple than look at them. All about the votes....
Now that little rant is done, I go *poof*
