Oh man oh man oh man...
First of all, lemme start off with this: Saturday was awesome. My voice is recovering slowly, but surely. I just have to find a day where I don't have to talk at all, and unfortunately, it won't be til maybe Friday. The good thing is, when I do have to talk, (except for Monday) it's done as softly and as low and as little as possible. Even better, my throat doesn't hurt at all anymore. But damn I had so much fun feeding all ya'll. *fussy* But next time you see a 6 pack (or more) of Guinness in my fridge? No touchy *pouts*. No touching offerings of Guinness given to The Goddess *pouts some more*. I never even got the chance to snag one, though I think there are 2 left. *pouts yet a bit more* Okay, so I don't mind them being snagged, but dammit, lemme have one first! Bah! Though I noticed no one touched my Reislings. I know none of ya'll have a deathwish *evil grin*. Don't think I won't choke a bitch for snagging an offering of Reisling without my prior knowledge *wags finger*
I'm glad Saturday is over though. I didn't realize exactly how much I had been stressing out the whole month of June with everything that had been going on. I gained more weight than I care to think about, and neither I nor my body are happy about it. So I really need to find ways to overcome that and become more active and healthywhile on a strict budget without putting myself into anymore holes.
Speaking of awesome parties, I do have yet another announcement. This is really from The Mom, actually; I'm just the messenger:
The Mom's oldest sister - The Aunt Dollie I spoke about a while ago - is coming to visit for the whole month of September *wigglebounce*. And this is where her announcement comes in. In September, The Mom would like to throw another get-together. See, Dollie was told about the parties I throw, and, you have to remember, my aunt was a bit of a party gal in her day *grin*. Granted, she can't party like she used to, as she's in her lateish 70's, but, Dollie has made it clear that she wants a party now.
So, as The Mom has had so much fun meeting and hanging out with you guys (okay, so it helps that the majority of the shenanigans are contained within my domain), she is proposing a major cookout one Saturday in September.
The reason she's calling it major is because she's volunteering me - not that I mind - to do a huge (cat)fish fry.
How huge? Well.. remember how many crab legs there were?
Yeah.
But this time, she would like the grill to get a bit more use. So it's going to be more a cookout/fish fry thang. No crab legs this time around, because, this year, it seems the price of crab legs actually went up *shudder*. You guys do not want to know how much those 3 crates were *shakes head*. But the catfish are definitely doable. And she wants the chance yet again to snag some of
10dimensions cheezy potato crack goodness (me too *nods*).
Now, the thing is, if we do this, Thanksgiving Dinner at our place may be a no go, unless *glances slyly in
vernard's direction* someone else throws it and I bring a brined turkey or two.
The date The Mom and I are looking at is September 15th.
Also? My baby sister is looking to visit around that time as well.
*wiggle*
Anyway, I did have a whole lotta stuff in my brain to dump out on here, but with this new bag o'goodies that just got dropped into my lap here at the office, my mind is whirling. It's bouncing back and forth between "Wooot!", and "*flails* OMGWTFBBQ!". It's something that I can do, yet, if I take this bone, it's going to be interesting juggling yet another hat. But! But, right now, I have all the time in the world, and if this works, I can quit the store for realz, yo. No more store. None. Zip. Not even if they call me up yet again to tell me they need me to come back again. The answer this time would be, "Sorry, but I can't.", as I'm trying not to let the grin show through my voice. Cause while this 2 days a week thing at the store is for the good for now, I really keep champing at my bit, wanting to just run away from there.
I think I'm more bone weary than first thought. And the way the sky is looking, I'm thinking of heading home in a bit. I still have to think over this new opportunity (Face it, Zora, you're gonna go for it, nothing else to "think about"), and I really do need to keep my throat happy and my voice quiet today.
Yeah, I think I'm gonna blow this popsicle stand. Maybe I'll be chatty later tonight (and remember what I'd wanted to go on about as well).

Date: 2007-07-12 08:39 pm (UTC)Hrmm.. Not quite sure yet of the menu other than the BBQ/catfish atm. Btw, erm.. You know there's a ton of salsa you left here (other than the bit we have in my jar *wiggle*), and I think those are your platter trays? If you need the trays anytime soon, I can try to get them to ya, unless you want me to hold onto them for the Sept shindig?

Date: 2007-07-13 12:48 am (UTC)Salsa's high in Vitamin C, and you needed it. Plus, you and the Mama like it.
Yes, the red chipdip trays are mine. I figured if people were gonna keep eating, I should leave 'em.
You can hang onto 'em for September. I only need 'em when I'm cooking for our crowd.
