Chris and Katrina

My cousin Chris emailed us these pics of the wreckage that was his and his roommate's apartment after Katrina had her way with it.. They lost everything but for a few items. Chris lost his car, which was a lexus (father's second hand, all that stuff.. but still.. a lexus.. His mother has since announced that the next car they give him til he buys his own is going to be a hoopty), but he was able to save his computer (he had to as he puts it.. he produces beats and music in his spare time and he couldn't afford to lose any of them (he let me hear some of his work when he last visited.. boy gots skills and he's already had some of his work used).. or was it his laptop..? Anyway he was able to save maybe a small handful of items And thinks he'll be able to salvage some stuff from the apartment (though it's doubtful since everything ended up in water). His roommate lost his computer and, well.. you can see from the pictures what they both lost.

So we've all been saving and sending him money as/when we can. Chris will be fine. He's been able to keep a strong and bright outlook over all this. And he is going to be staying in Houston with his roommate's family and finishing school there.

Wow....I'll keep Chris in my prayers. I'm glad he was able to salvage a few things.

Good God. And those rooms look to be several floors up from street level. Check out the mold. Nothing looks salvagable there. Poor guys.

Their apartment was on the second floor I do believe. And the water was just about up to their ceiling. =(

Aye, tell me about it =(. When he and his mom got back there to survey I think they had quite a bit of a shock. He knew he'd lost so much.. but when they actually went back and saw it.. It really hit him then.

Yeah he made a comment about the view also.. And I'd imagine the breeze that was blowing in had to have been a bit ... fragrant from all that mold and rot =(.
