grrrrrrrr....
Apr. 13th, 2004 12:06 amOkay. I'm going to scream now..
Thunderstorm finally let up some so that I can take care of a few last minute secretarial issues for mom.. i.e. moving our Earthlink and Directv services to the house.
Now.. about 2 weeks ago.. I'd mention using Comcast to her instead of Directv (long story I'll get into some other time). Mom makes the decision that, no. We'll keep Directv.
Not a problem.
Well I call Directv about 20 minutes ago to let them know when to move the service. And Mom had me use her credit card for the obvious reasons (charge and stuff for reinstall).
I get off the phone and go back to her room to let her know.
"Mom? Okay.. I made the move request and the tech will be there on Monday to set everything up."
I turn back to go to my room..
"Mel? I've been thinking.. You know.. We could get Comcast, right?"
Me..
(*thinks to self* oh shitshitshitshitshit she is NOT about to do what she's been doing to me the whole fucking time we started the ball moving on getting the house and everything.. Having me do one thing and being quite sure.. then turning right around after I've done it to either fuss at me for doing it or having me go back and change everything) "Um.. Mom.. You DO realize I just got off the phone with them about moving the service."
Mom:
"Yes.. I know. But I thought about it.. And I think it just may be better to just go with another cable company instead" (here she inserts her reasons as to why)
After internally screaming my head off and imagining kicking stuffed puppy and kitten dolls and the like, and finally getting it straight with Mom exactly what she was intending about cable and everything else (plus getting the name of the company right ~ she claims I was calling Comcast something else *sigh*), I let her know that no, the secretary is not pleased right at this moment, but will call Directv back to totally cancel the service on the 16th and then get in touch with Comcast about setting up service.
She starts to mention changing ISP companies and I told her that no I'm drawing the line there. Just because her sisters have a certain ISP company that does cable and what not in New York, it does not mean that we should change companies to be along with them.
Now granted, yes.. after her stroke, she's not been 'mentally on the ball' all the time, and she never stops thanking me for taking on all this extra work for her (which I would have done for her anyway) because she would have been so swamped and stressed (and I can handle stress a bit better than she can), but dammit..
*sigh*
Well.. I got yet another phone call to make and it's starting to thunder yet again..
I need a drink..
Actually.. I need to just drain the whole bar..
